Headteacher at Beccles Primary Academy.
Beccles Primary Academy is a vibrant school, hidden away on the north side of Beccles with extensive grounds, busy classrooms and happy children.
Our children are the focus of our work, and we believe in the individual talents of each and every one of them. No one knows what amazing things our children could go on to achieve in later life and it is our job to provide them with the skills to make the most of every opportunity put before them.
We are passionate about nurturing a lifelong love of learning in our children. Our Mission Statement, ‘Inspiring Minds, Expanding Horizon’s’ is at the heart of everything we do.
At Beccles Primary Academy, we like to think of our community as one big family. You will find all our staff to be approachable, willing to help and supportive in any way they can as we all have the same goal; to ensure that our children have the best possible start in life.
We embrace individuality and seek to make every child’s education journey a positive and inspirational experience. Our inclusive classrooms support children of all abilities.
We follow the CUSP curriculum, which provides clear guidance, academic rigour and space for creativity. As such, our curriculum is more than the timetabling of lessons. It is embedded in the day-to-day life of our school, from assemblies to play time, educational visits to school productions. We aim for our curriculum to be vibrant and exciting, bringing learning to life through a real context. We strive to be the very best we can be for our children and the community of which we are part. While we will always prioritise our children’s academic outcomes and progress, we believe that we offer more than just academic focus. We want our children to be ready for all of life’s challenges and to be able to grasp every opportunity that comes their way; we believe that this can only come about by enabling a curriculum that focuses on building a range of key skills as well as deep knowledge and personal development.
We want our children to have experiences beyond the ordinary, to push what they believe they could do, develop skills and attitudes to benefit their lives for many years to come. Children who start school with us in Early Years and stay with us until the end of Year 6, will benefit from our REAch2 initiative of 11 before 11 promises.

What we are looking for in our next Headteacher:
We are seeking an outstanding senior leader, with the passion, drive, and enthusiasm to build on our considerable strengths. You will be able to lead, motivate, develop and inspire a school team of staff and governors who are passionately committed to giving pupils a wide range of real-life and enriching experiences. We would like to hear from existing headteachers and talented deputy headteachers who feel that they have the knowledge and expertise to help us raise outcomes and help the school to consistently deliver.
You will demonstrate a clear understanding of what it takes for a school to retain a ‘Good’ judgement and the competency to lead the school to an ‘Outstanding’ outcome. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to manage, prioritise and organise your workload, to show flexibility and resilience and recognise the need for pastoral care for all members of the school community.
Community engagement and outreach is important at Beccles and we are seeking a new headteacher who will build on the successes of the current headteacher to further raise the profile of the school and improve student attendance.
