This is a dynamic and evolving opportunity for recent college graduates to learn about supply chain in an industrial construction setting through the 2-year Zachry Rotational Program.
This is a job rotational program that seeks to develop Zachry’s future project leaders. Participants will work on construction projects for on-the-job training in an operations role and participate in training opportunities at corporate offices. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be placed in a direct role at a key job site.
The Rotational Program is looking for individuals who have leadership potential, a can-do attitude, and a desire to learn and grow a strong career with Zachry. Participants should be willing and ready to relocate to a job site for the duration of the program and upon placement in a full-time role.
What will you do in this role?
Field Procurement:
Source and award field purchase orders and rental agreements per site-specific requirements.
Conduct bid reviews with the site team and suppliers, negotiate with suppliers for the best value. Look for cost savings and value-added opportunities with current or new supply base.
Manage Purchase order process from requisition through the delivery of goods and services.
Subcontract Administration:
Subcontract Contract Management including the understanding of the Agreement, meeting with subcontractors, resolving issues, negotiating change orders and approving invoices.
Field Execution including attending safety walks, escorting subcontractors as needed, verifying installed quantities or completed executed work and tracking the subcontractor’s schedule.
Bidding subcontracted work including scope of work development, RFP package development, analyzing bids and making a recommendation for award.
Material Control:
Work with Materials Management to make sure Bills of Material are loaded in system and material is available for issuance to craft according to schedule
Review and update daily receiving logs
Assist with the disposition of overages, shorts, and damages
Expediting:
Work alongside materials management and planner to understand what material is not available and needs to be expedited
Coordinate with Logistics team to provide status of material arrivals and modes of transport
Work with suppliers to obtain updated status reports on material/equipment disposition
Provide regular updates from suppliers to planners and materials management

Qualifications:
These qualifications are required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business/Office Administration, Construction Project Management, Engineering, History, Industrial Technology, Mathematics, Operational Management, Political Science, Risk Management, Supply Chain/Logistics Management, Transportation/Mobility Management, or related field
Willing to relocate for the program and future full-time opportunities
Available to work 50+ hours per week
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Advanced user of Microsoft applications (such as Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)

These qualifications are a plus:
Previous experience in industrial construction
What can you expect the physical demands to be?
An employee in this role will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Will be required to view a computer monitor/screen for long periods of time with breaks in-between; May be required to lift, carry, and move objects up to 25 lbs. safely; Capable of operating and functioning in an office-based work environment; Position will include walk downs of industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
What will the work environment be like?
An employee in this role will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on sites. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
