Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities
Offer health promotion and prevention activities, for example, training people to use devices such as blood pressure or diabetes monitors
Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal
Responsible for procurement of registered, unregistered, and controlled pharmaceutical supplies through external sources
The nature of demands of employment may necessitate attendance at work at times other than and in addition to the normal working hours (i.e. working shift cycles to suit the needs of PIMC) and expected to comply with any reasonable directions of PIMC to this effect
Repackaging tablets and capsules using the Cadet Machine
Checks and records pharmacy room temperature and humidity
Monitors and records pharmacy refrigerator temperature twice daily
Ensures that medications are stored in appropriate and secured conditions
Maintains the cleanliness of the pharmacy areas
Be able to support other pharmacist in their day-to-day workload
Maintains adequate stock of medications in the shelves
Perform medication management audit along with other pharmacist in an appointed time
Delivers medication request as required by the clinical unit
Monitors the expiration dates of medications
Attends meetings, seminars, workshops designed to improve knowledge and pharmacy services
IV PHARMACY ROOM
Accepts IV orders from the clinical areas to be prepared in IV room
Process the order based on the standard procedure
Receives enquiry about IV medication orders
Prepares standard labeling requirements for IV orders
Prepares IV admixtures such as piggy bags and syringes for antibiotics inside the laminar flow hood using aseptic technique
Prepares TPN and large volume IV preparations
Check proper storage of IV drugs
Maintains stock level of drugs inside the IV room
Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the area
IN-PATIENT PHARMACY
Runs reports for ward cart filling
Maintains sufficient quantity of drugs on the shelves
Fills unit-dose ward cart exchange
Process initial dose orders
Runs update for final cart exchange filling
Check patients’ transfers and discharge
Fills missing doses and fills ward stock requisitions
Compounds extemporaneous preparations
Conducts monthly nursing unit ward stock level inspection
Checks and monitors expirations dates of compounded preparations

Communicates appropriately and clearly to Charge Nurse, Shift in Charge, coworkers and other members of the multidisciplinary team

Education -Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program / Graduate from an accredited Pharmaceutical program of a minimum duration of three (4) years Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Experience - Has clinical experience within a hospital setting – 2 years as a minimum
Certification and Licensure - DOH Licensed / Current certification in BLS
Job Specific Knowledge and Skills - Experience with JCI accreditation.
Familiar and experienced with DOH policies and procedures
