As an Infusion Center Registered Nurse, you will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. To help achieve our mission, you will use an integrated approach toward achieving desired patient outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning. Providing direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor is of vital importance. Your leadership skills in decision making and problem solving are essential. Your ability to provide comprehensive patient and family education including information about treatments, medications, chemotherapy and other appropriate items, while keeping patients and families informed about all aspects of the plan of care, is required. Working with members of the healthcare team to provide patients and families with appropriate resources and support is expected.
The Research Infusion Clinic is open Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm. Research Infusion nurses work four 10-hour shifts. There are no weekend shifts, however you will be trained to cover adult outpatient infusion, which does have Saturday hours.

Serves as a resource and subject matter expert for other disciplines to provide education, guidance and other support as needed.
Requirements
Certification - Basic Life Support; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification within 2 years of hire; obtain chemo card within 3 months of hire
Licensure - Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
Experience - 1 year of infusion nursing experience.
Education - BSN or AD; if RN has an AD, within six months from the date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend; 2) Provide a written plan with the anticipated BSN completion date; 3) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses; and 4) Complete BSN within 24 months of start date
