The details…

We are looking for Finance Manager to support our Group Reporting Team in delivery of timely and insightful global financial reporting. This is a brilliant opportunity to be a key member of the team who provide high quality financial information both to internal stakeholders and for external financial reporting purposes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform monthly cost centre expenditure reviews by collaborating with cost centre managers to identify monthly accruals and prepayments and to analyse and report on performance, ensuring appropriate commentary is prepared for management accounts and for FP&A purposes.
  • Preparation and presentation of cost centre performance to senior management and cost centre managers.
  • Business partnering with the Intellectual Property teams to understand, review, manage and supervise the company’s research agreements and licenses from a financial perspective.
  • Collaborate with the senior IP teams and revenue accountants to assist in royalty calculations.
  • Preparation and review of lead schedules and balance sheet reconciliations to support the monthly management accounts and statutory financial documents.
  • Monthly review and posting of reporting completed by 3rd party subsidiary accountants and maintaining relationships with them.
  • Working with the Finance business systems team in collecting and analysing data in an efficient way to be used in the preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments calculations and reconciliations .
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts including group consolidation.
  • Review the recording of travel expenses and form relationships with teams who travel frequently to ensure expenses are reflected in the accurate cost centres and recorded in a timely manner.
  • Business partnering with FP&A, accounts payable, procurement and business systems teams in ensuring information is recorded in the accounting system with sufficient level of detail at source to support R&D capitalisation analysis.
  • Interpretation of accounting standards, preparation of impact assessments/technical accounting memos and supporting the implementation thereof.

  • Collaborate with FP&A team and cost centre managers in preparing future budgets.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts.
  • Support the review and consolidation of the foreign subsidiary results.
  • Statutory and internal audit support.

 

What we're looking for…

Essential:

  • We would like you to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with shown experience extracting and analysing data in an efficient way to support assessments and calculations of monthly accruals and prepayments. 
  • A track record of proactively and continually improving processes, controls, and the work environment, particularly from cumbersome manual time-consuming repetitive processes to automated process with in-built accuracy checks. 
  • Good understanding of IFRS reporting requirements and preparation of technical accounting memos, as well as strong MS Excel skills. 
  • Excellent organization, planning skills & ability to identify issues, offer solutions and follow through with a satisfactory result. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for accuracy and consistency. 
  • Experience of optimally running key business processes; documenting, improving, and monitoring compliance. 
  • Excellent self-organisation and project management skills to be able to work with colleagues across the business and provide mentorship to the team. 
  • Flexibility, especially during peak times. 
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines. 

Desirable:

  • Extensive IAS 38 & IAS 16 knowledge.
