Would you like to be part of a team passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND? We currently are looking for a SEN caseworker who will be responsible for managing an Early Years to Year 6 caseload.
Do you have:
- the commitment to implement the Council Equal Opportunities Policies;

- understanding of areas of SEN and ability to relate this to Lewisham's Equal Opportunities policies;
- the ability to complete complex processes efficiently and to a high standard within defined deadlines.
What’s the role?To be responsible for a caseload of children and young people with SEND and manage all statutory processes linked to Education Health Care Needs Assessments and Education, Health and Care Plans statutory frameworks in accordance with The Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice January 2015.

What we’re looking forSomeone who is committed to support our children and young people with SEND to achieve their aspirations and meet their educational outcomes.
Someone to successfully work in partnership with children and young people, families, education settings, education, health and social care services and other partner agencies.
Someone who will provide comprehensive casework management to ensure the effectiveness of our service in accordance with the requirements of the Children’s & Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice 2015.
Someone with excellent drafting skills to prepare complex documents on the basis of professional reports and interpretation of law and local policy.
LocationThe job is primarily based in Kaleidoscope but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. Currently we are working in the office 2 days per week.
Special conditions
- Excellent literacy and numeracy.
- IT skills — word processing, use of databases etc.
- The job is subject to an enhanced DBS check
