Procurement and Contract Management plays a vital role in ensuring that the Council continues to deliver high quality and value for money front line services to its residents.
What’s the role?
The Procurement & Contracts Manager position is a pivotal role within our Procurement team working across our Directorates. Reporting to the Strategic Procurement and Contracts Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the successful procurement of fit for purpose solutions, supporting effective contract management of existing and new services, and managing a team of procurement experts.

What we’re looking for
Strong knowledge of public sector procurement to manage and support the Council’s procurement arrangements across a wide range of services.
Experience of contract management matters related to procurement practices ensuring compliance with procurement procedures, standing orders and financial regulations, including the management of commercial risks.
You will have an eye for accuracy and can ensure quality and consistency of work and be a good communicator and team player. In addition, you will have experience of managing staff.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£57,177 - £59,220 per annum (PO7)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
