We’re looking for a creative and ambitious transport expert to lead this critical area. You will drive transformation and modernise the service. In return you will be given the freedom and support to push the boundaries to deliver the best outcomes for our communities.
What’s the role?
This is a critical role that will lead the delivery of Lewisham’s significant strategic transport and highways ambitions. These include leading the campaign to bring the Bakerloo line extension to Lewisham, Levelling Up Fund improvements to Lewisham Town Centre and working with TfL and other partners on the A205 road realignment. This and more will play a key role in supporting the Catford regeneration project, which will be known as the greenest town centre in London.
The successful candidate will manage the borough’s highways network through modern and sustainable methods, and deliver forward thinking transport, cycling and walking schemes. A key priority will be to support delivery of the climate action plan outcomes, working collaboratively with colleagues and partners, and review how the service should develop to deliver an ambitious active travel programme, reduce congestion, and improve air quality.

The job is primarily based in Catford, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£88, 641 to £94, 323 per annum (JNC4)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
