Introduction
The Legal (Place) Team are looking for contracts and procurement lawyers to handle a wide variety of the Council's contract work. You will join a growing and developing team and liaise with stakeholders from across the Council and beyond.
What’s the role?
You will report to the Senior Lawyer in the Contracts team. The role will involve working in a collaborative manner with the wider legal team, other teams across the Council and external legal advisers and members of the public. You will be expected to support the Legal Team, by attending evening Planning Committee meetings as required.

What we’re looking for
You will have the legal knowledge and experience commensurate with a solicitor, barrister or CILEX with at least 2 years post qualification experience. We are especially looking for lawyers who are familiar with working on construction contracts, and have a detailed knowledge of procurement law. Experience of regeneration projects, employment and education law is ideal, but not essential. You will have an ability to work under pressure, juggling caseloads, meeting priorities and dealing with conflicting deadlines. You will have an eye for accuracy and ensure quality and consistency of work produced. You will have great people skills and experience of supporting and working alongside a diverse range of people
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£52,059 - £54,135 per annum (PO5)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
