Introduction
The Legal (Place) Team are looking for an experienced Senior Property Lawyer to handle a wide variety of residential, commercial and regeneration work. You will join a growing and developing team and liaise with stakeholders from across the Council and beyond.
What’s the role?…
You will report to the Principal Lawyer in the Legal Place team and will supervise a team of property lawyers and assistants. The role will involve working in a collaborative manner with the Legal Property team, the wider legal team, other teams across the Council and external legal advisers and members of the public. You will be expected to support the Legal Team, by attending evening Council and Committee meetings as required.

What we’re looking for
You will have the legal knowledge and experience commensurate with a solicitor, barrister or CILEX with at least 5 years post qualification experience, preferably in a local government setting. You will have an ability to work under pressure, juggling caseloads, meeting priorities and dealing with conflicting deadlines. You will have an eye for accuracy and ensure quality and consistency of work produced. You will have great people skills and experience of supporting and working alongside a diverse range of people.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£60,261 - £62,457 per annum (PO8)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
