GHD's APAC Legal team is enjoying a buoyant market and very strong forward workload so it is a wonderful time to join the business as Legal Counsel. Reporting to the APAC Assistant General Counsel in Sydney, you will be part of an engaged, collaborative and accomplished APAC legal team, and will partner with the business as a key legal and strategic advisor. This role will see you supporting internal, multi-disciplinary clients, within a committed, dynamic and encouraging work environment.
Offering a good variety of work that will see you involved in:
- Reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial contracts, including consultancy contracts in a range of contexts involving the delivery of professional services including for major infrastructure projects.
- Providing pragmatic advice on:
- General legal issues that arise from day to day in a global consulting firm in the areas such as employment, privacy and contract law, intellectual property law, commercial disputes and litigation management.
- Legislative compliance, internal policies and some corporate governance matters.
- Assisting in providing training on legal issues for non-legal technical staff.
What you will bring to the team:
- Australian Practising Certificate with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience preferably with a top or mid tier law firm or relevant in-house experience
- Previous experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to your work
- A true team player - you will actively contribute and work well in a close-knit environment
- Previous experience in major projects, infrastructure, construction, resources or engineering desirable but not essential.
