About the role
We are very excited to share that we are now looking for a Business Group Leader in the Middle East! Based in our Abu Dhabi office this role will lead our Advisory business group in the region while exercising a careful balance on performance and work winning – this position offers a unique opportunity to blend your skills in leading and developing people, excellence in client engagement, successfully pursuing and delivering multi-disciplinary projects and driving excellence in business performance for the group.
You will play an important role in our EMEA Advisory Leadership Group, providing strategic vision and setting the direction of travel for group development. Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in promoting success through the delivery of projects that exceed client expectations, effectively utilising staff resources and solutions to achieve profitable outcomes for GHD in line with our core values and culture
The role will be based in the UAE with some travel required, both domestically within the UAE, as well as internationally within the EMEA region. Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of GHD’s client centric performance and work winning culture within Advisory in the Middle East
- Shape and implement the Business Group strategy and business plan
- Champion collaboration and integration across the GHD enterprise to deliver best in class solutions for our clients
- Undertake relationship building and work winning with clients
- Ensure the safety and well-being of GHD’s people and visitors within the Business Group
- Promote innovation within the Business Group and in our engagement with clients
- Actively contribute to GHD’s brand in the in the region through collaboration with Marketing
- Working with Technical Service Leaders, developing short and long-term capability, informing the acquisition of skills to support future growth
- Working closely with the Market Development Leader, Regional Market Leaders and Sector Leaders to support the development and execution of market strategies and client pursuit plans
- Monitor the technically and commercially sound delivery of projects and promote client satisfaction
- Support and coach Team Leaders enabling them to engage and develop their teams to drive a high performance culture
- Drive and support Project Managers and Project Directors to deliver quality work on time/budgets
- Manage risk in compliance with GHD policies and guidelines
- Ensure effective and timely reporting against set KPIs
What you will bring to the team:
- 15+ years professional experience in a consultancy environment with at least 5+ years in a leadership role managing, leading and mentoring others
- Engaging and motivating people skills backed by strategic problem-solving capabilities
- Commercially astute with strong project delivery experience, including providing support to Project Directors and Project Managers to deliver outstanding client experiences coupled with both technical and commercial performance on projects
- Passionately innovative, with a drive to continuously evolve the way we work to deliver successful outcomes for our clients
- High level market awareness and business development skills with a strong focus on client engagement and ideally a well-established network of relationships across potential clients
- You are a hardworking, supportive and motivating leader able to get the best out of their team and comfortable with mentoring and leading a team of specialists with a wide range of skills and experience
- Ability to develop lasting client relationships based on trust and delivery excellence
- Ability to delegate effectively and develop capability within the region
- Capacity to deal with complexity and ambiguity
