Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Consultant/ Senior Consultant – Sustainability to join our growing Sustainability & Climate team in Sydney. You will be working closely with experienced subject matter specialists to help our key clients to deliver on a variety of exciting projects and leverage those relationships to develop new opportunities.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Support or project manage decarbonisation projects for clients seeking to mitigate climate change by reducing emissions, achieving net zero, or achieve related climate transition risk objectives.
- In collaboration with senior colleagues, develop our climate change and emissions advisory and audit business in delivery of client projects in areas of compliance advice and assurance (audits) under Commonwealth and NSW Government schemes such as National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER), Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF), Safeguard Mechanism and NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS).
- Support climate change risk projects including the identification & assessment of risks and development of adaptation planning for assets and regions in line with AS5334:2013 and ISO310000:2018 and based on interpretation of the latest climate projection and hazard context data.
- Support resilience planning for clients by assessing their objectives in the context of projected changing climate, aligning with regional resilience planning, and interactions with key stakeholders.
- Support senior colleagues in business development, including prospective and existing client liaison to enhance relationship, leading or contributing to successful proposals as well as commercial and technical review of proposals made by senior consultants as part of proposal approval.
- Be the Project Manager accountable for engaging with and delivering climate change and emissions projects to our clients’ satisfaction on a timely basis and within budget.
- Identifying and helping to address and resolve project delivery challenges where required, for example negotiating variations with the client to scope.
- Represent GHD at industry events and in relevant professional networks
- Using data and analytical processes to improve understanding of a situation and solve real-world problems on behalf of clients
What you will bring to the team:
- Ideally over 4 years post-graduate experience working in the sustainability/climate change space
- Have a degree in Engineering or Science, or other suitably appropriate discipline
- Have strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent commercial skills
