Position: Relationship Manager – DfT

Location: London

Primary Function: As the Relationship Manager for the Department for Transport (DfT), you will be a pivotal part of our Key Client Program, dedicated to delivering exceptional client experiences and driving growth opportunities for GHD. You will be responsible for building and nurturing strong relationships with the DfT and associated transport organizations, while also representing the client's voice internally. Your role will involve developing and executing a comprehensive growth plan, integrating the best of GHD's capabilities, and leading a high-performing team dedicated to delivering outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement and Growth:

  • Identify, secure, and grow a pipeline of work with the DfT and associated clients, aiming for approximately £10m annually.
  • Develop and execute a 3+ year growth plan, leveraging CX tools and focusing on enhancing client experiences across the client journey phases.
  • Establish strong, long-term relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and decision-makers, aiming for deepened client recognition and enhanced brand reputation.
  • Drive financial performance by setting ambitious goals, monitoring data to inform investment decisions, and achieving growth targets.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to solving the DfT's challenges, ensuring alignment with the client journey stages from awareness to advocacy.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a mentor to the next generation of client leaders, including the Key Client Coordinator (KCC), and champion effective client engagement practices.

Market Insights and Strategy:

  • Stay informed about market and client drivers, contributing insights and analysis to inform GHD's response strategies.
  • Lead external campaigns, content, and events to elevate GHD's brand recognition among clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Participate in project acquisition activities, providing guidance on client preferences and representing the client's interests in Tender Review Groups (TRGs).

Performance Metrics: Your success will be measured by various key performance indicators, including client insight and market opportunities, strength of relationships, winning work metrics, sustainable growth indicators, delivery excellence, and skill development milestones.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in forming strong and collaborative relationships with DfT or other transport clients in the market.
  • Leadership experience on major client accounts, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, particularly in understanding clients and implementing CX processes and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suites and CRM technology, preferably Salesforce.
