Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Principal Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you’ll play a crucial role in designing and overseeing a variety of structural works across different sectors. Responsibilities
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will:
- Lead Structural Design: Take charge of designing and analyzing water-related structures, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance with industry standards.
- Project Management: Manage projects related to water infrastructure, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Technical Expertise: Apply your deep understanding of structural engineering principles to address complex challenges.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and integrity of designs, calculations, and documentation.
- Client Engagement: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
To excel in this role, you should have:
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience.
- Proven ability to work in a multi-discipline environment.
- A proven track record in water-related structural engineering would be ideal.
- Demonstrable experience of complex designs on projects, with specific responsibility for successfully conceptualising, modelling and assessing structural behaviour in common construction materials including steel, concrete are essential. Timber and masonry design would be desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and relevant codes and standards.
- Experience of working with design tools such as TEDDS Tekla, Robot (or similar) and with BIM protocols are essential. An ability to work with STAAD Pro (or similar) and REVIT would be desirable.
Leadership Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership in managing projects and teams.
Communication Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients and colleagues effectively.
Qualifications:
- A relevant engineering degree (e.g., Civil or Structural Engineering) and professional registration.
