Head of ERP Systems Admin
UK/Hybrid – with some travel
The role sits within the ERP Division of Digital Services and leads the Enterprise Resource Planning System Admin team reporting to the ERP Services Director.
This is a great opportunity to be pivotal in delivering maximum value for National Highways from its investment in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions through to leading the ERP system administration team to deliver a service that is stable, secure, performant, and robust.
This position can be based at any National Highways main office locations and will offer a balance of remote and office-based work.
What you’ll be leading on
Lead the ERP Technical system administration function and provide overall technical leadership and technical direction of the ERP service.
Lead the technical development, technical assurance, and technical approval of improvements to the ERP service ensuring changes are fully impact assessed, against the current ERP configuration to deliver service integrity and performance.
Overall accountability for change within the ERP Service ensuring robust change management best practices are followed including technical assurance of system developments including representing the ERP Service in projects where they affect or interface with the ERP service.
Support the ERP Services Director and ERP Strategy Implementation Manager in developing the future ERP strategy and business cases.
Represent ERP in technical discussions with other divisions of Digital Services (e.g. cyber security, Solution Architecture etc.)
Provide leadership in all technical assessment and change delivery ensuring changes to the ERP service and interfaces are properly assessed and implemented to ensure system performance and stability.
Represent the ERP service in meetings and projects to manage technical and change risk in delivery and integration. Accountable for the technical approval of system change to deliver a system that is robust, secure, controlled and causes minimal business disruption.
Support the ERP Services Director & ERP Strategy Manager in the development and delivery of future ERP strategy for greater exploitation of available technologies.
Providing leadership, line management and support to colleagues within the function
To be successful you’ll need
Extensive experience of technical leadership of ERP Systems and leading IT Change Management and IT support functions
Expert technical knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Oracle Fusion Cloud (Financial, HR and procurement modules)
Demonstratable experience in leading the operation of business-critical services with a focus on Continual Service Improvement leading to better business outcomes
Experience in presenting complex technical issues and influencing at a senior level up to and including Director level
Knowledge and experience of IT process best practice, and IT change management. (e.g. ITIL) Functional / Technical Skills
Extensive experience of leading System Administration Teams.
Knowledge of Software as a service (SaaS), Platform as a service, (PaaS) and other cloud technologies including
Experience of integrating and securing software as a service (SaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) applications into wider IT environment
