NOV is actively recruiting ambitious college/university graduates for an Electrical Engineer role that will be part of our Pathway Rotational Program.
The NOV Pathway Rotational Program offers recent college graduates the opportunity to obtain meaningful work experiences through a structured 2-to-3-year rotational program. The program is designed to help participants develop strong functional/technical expertise and business knowledge through challenging, hands-on assignments and exposure to various groups across NOV. Towards the end of the program, participants will work with their management support team to identify full-time positions that best suit individual skill sets as well as company needs.
Participants can choose from multiple career track options based on education and career interest. Each career track has its own training and experience-based learning objectives, and knowledge and performance are evaluated following each rotation.
Following the engineeringcareer track, the primary responsibilities will be as follows:
Produce complete drawings packages: electrical One Line Diagrams, Wiring / Interconnect Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, I/O Lists, Cable Indexes, Fabrication and Assembly general arrangement drawings of Control Panels and Terminal Boxes, Cable and Instrument Layouts, Hazardous Area Layouts
Review of contracts and regulations to ensure required specification compliance within specifications
Provide technical support during life cycle of NOV Drilling Equipment
New product development for products entering the Drilling Market
Provide assistance and expertise in field implementation of equipment and associated control system integration
Coordinate equipment Factory Acceptance Tests as required
Provide electrical system commissioning and start-up support
Ensure equipment scope is defined and documented before entering design stages
Provide if required, site engineering support during integration/installation phases
Ensure smooth execution of projects by on time delivery of technical content and drawing packages
Create technical specifications and technical design documents for equipment
Ensure that equipment designs comply with industry standards, foreign or domestic
We invite you to apply if you have the following qualifications and skills:
Recent graduate (1-2 years) or graduating May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with a specialization in Controls and Signal Processing or Power and Power Electronics
Experience with PLC, SBC, and HMI applications
Experience with AutoCAD preferred
Hands-on experience (e.g. electrically inclined hobbies, previous work experience)
Mechanical aptitude that is self-directed and highly motivated
Strong analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work independently with the ability to multitask on multiple projects
Strong attention to detail and highly motivated
