The Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) is recognized as an international leader in translating scientific discovery into clinical therapies. Physicians and scientists at WFIRM were the first in the world to engineer laboratory-grown organs that were successfully implanted into humans. Today, this interdisciplinary team that numbers about 400 is working to engineer more than 40 different replacement tissues and organs, and to develop healing cell therapies – all with the goal to cure, rather than merely treat, disease.
A position is available at the Postdoctoral Fellow level to join an established laboratory working on novel approaches to cell and gene therapy in preclinical model systems.
Duties include:
Applicant will be responsible to plan/design, coordinate, and conduct experiments as well as anticipate and solve technical problems. Must possess good communication skills and a strong ability to work well with others as part of a team, as well as work independently and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Note: This position relies on grant funding which may limit the duration of the job. Specific timeframes vary based on the type and length of the grant and will be discussed during the interview.
