JOB SUMMARY:
Provides clinical counseling for clients of CareNet Counseling Centers, participates in the mission of the CareNet Counseling Center at assigned location, and participates in the educational aspects of the CareNet Residency in Psychotherapy and Spirituality. In addition, responsible for administrative activities as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Master's or Doctorate degree in counseling-related discipline required. Must have completed accredited degree in counseling related field and internships in mental health settings. Experience in a ministry or human service field preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:
Associate behavioral health license (i.e., LPC-A, LMFT-A, LCSW-A, LCAS-A or other) in North Carolina.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
2. Follows medical center and departmental policies and procedures, contributes to overall quality of services, and assumes responsibility for keeping informed about changes in policies and procedures.
3. Delivers high quality clinical services of pastoral counseling, psychotherapy, consultation, and education.
4. Collects full client data in the intake process, establishes clear and written therapeutic contracts, assists clients to identify and secure desired outcomes.
5. Contributes to departmental effectiveness and operations.
6. Serves or leads department committees and work groups to improve operations; at discretion of center director, assumes administrative, marketing, and community service responsibilities, up to one day per week; speaking, leading programs to promote department.
7. Develops professionally.
8. Maintains current memberships in related professional organizations and attends professional development/continuing education programs identified in personal development plan.
9. Receives supervision/consultation to enhance professional effectiveness.
10. Initiates cooperative working relationships with other community professionals and disciplines. Adds new skills/licensure/certifications to enhance professional functioning. Maintains ethical codes of the profession and licensing organizations.
11. Participates in CareNet Residency in Psychotherapy and Spirituality training programs.
12. Meets with resident group as scheduled, participates in weekly individual supervision, completes required reading and writing assignments, and documents supervisory hours.
