Job Summary
Provides administrative oversight to all areas of MedCenter Air’s EMS delivery system, including service delivery & revision, staffing, and education & training. Performs supervisory work in planning, organizing and directing. Organizes and directs the operations of the Emergency Medical Service functions, including preparing and administering the annual budget, coordinating the activities of governmental, non-governmental agencies. Provides emergency medical services or support for such services, developing and implementing emergency responses or evacuation plans, and supervising, advising and instructing department personnel. Educates the public as to the correct use of resources in cases of emergencies.

Physical Requirements
Duties may require field work/observation, transporting patients, and driving in all weather conditions to include exposure to extreme hot, cold, and/or wet weather. Must not have any physical, emotional, or mental impairment that would prevent riding, driving, or administering patient care in a transport vehicle. This work area may be cramped and poorly lit. Noise levels are moderate as associated with working around and in emergency vehicles. Hearing protection is available and required for use around “hot” aircraft. May require exposure to unpleasant conditions, contact with patients that have infectious diseases, and/or handling of contaminated materials or patients. Requires ability to function in high stress situations. Must have critical thinking skills that enable the employee to make rapid, appropriate decisions that ensure safety of both crew and patients. Must have the ability to concentrate. Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, unloading / loading of patients. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include but not limited to, speaking English in good understandable terms.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. Five years of progressively responsible emergency management and/or emergency medical services experience required, ten years or more of experience preferred. Experience as a paramedic or related allied health profession engaged in transport services preferred.
