The Dean’s Office at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate student to join our team as a Project Management Intern. This internship offers a comprehensive learning experience to gain hands-on experience in project planning, implementation, and coordination within the Dean’s Office senior leadership team. The position offers exposure to all aspects of operations within the Dean’s Office. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders and teammates to support various initiatives within the School of Medicine. The position will be an 8-12 week position, 20-30 hours a week, during summer 2024, as agreed upon prior to start of employment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Current undergraduate students in any discipline will be considered, but preference will be given to students who are studying or have experience in business, education, research, public health, and/or healthcare.
- Students in any year will be considered, but preference will be given to sophomores and juniors.
- Background and interest in administration, operations, healthcare, higher education preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects within the Dean’s Office.
- Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of certain phases of assigned projects.
- Communicate effectively with teammates and stakeholders, providing updates, seeking feedback, and addressing inquiries.
- Collaborate with teammates on data collection, analysis, and presentation for ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the Dean’s Office.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Well organized and detail oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take initiative and complete assigned tasks with intermittent supervision.
