Summary
The Registered Nurse / RN plans, delivers and evaluates nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and/or designee. The Registered Nurse / RN performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties. The Registered Nurse / RN performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
- Subject to normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
- Subject to atmospheric conditions; one or more of the following conditions may affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
- Subject to the following hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts; toxic/ caustic chemicals; radiation; biohazardous waste; housekeeping and/or cleaning agents; and flammable/explosive gases.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to operate standard office machines, computer and telephone.
- Frequently required to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Frequently required to assist patients (i.e., pushing wheelchair, turning, walking, lifting and sitting up).
- Frequently required to walk, stand and bend.
- Ability to write and speak English.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in a work environment, performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Education:
Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience:
Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
Certifications:
Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
