Wound Care Tech PRN Days Position Summary
This position is a non-licensed position requiring on the job training. Duties include assisting with direct patient wound care that are assigned by the licensed wound care RN and MD. Duties include set up and /cleanup of treatment space, monitoring patients, obtaining and recording vital signs, removing and applying dressings, and ordering/stocking supplies The position will require becoming proficient with topical dressing changes, compression wraps, negative pressure wound therapy, and total contact casting. Additional duties may include crash cart safety checks, supporting administrative staff, and other duties as assigned by the clinic manager.
THE WOUND CARE TECH PRN DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Education/Other Qualifications
1. High School diploma plus two years of experience preferred
2. Two years of college or post high school work preferred.
3. Must have current BCLS certification
4. Strong computer skills
5. Problem solving skills, Independent initiative
6. Strong teamwork and communication skills
7. Good time management skill

Prepares treatment areas appropriately for patient care, cleans treatment areas following patient care, to include hydrotherapy areas; assists patients to prepare for treatment; transports patients to and from the department, assists therapists and assistants with patient care, maintains linen supplies, maintains inventory of supplies, assures appropriate equipment performance prior to use, performs cleaning of the area and equipment as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
Education:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree
Experience:
Preferred: 6 months in healthcare setting
Certification:
Required: AHA BLS.
