Packaging Assistant, Part Time
Hearst Midwest Media has an opening for a part-time Packaging Assistant, Hearst Michigan Newspapers prints 4 Dailies and Weeklies owned by Hearst, plus a variety of Commercial Printing. We are seeking an individual with high standards in quality and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Operates, setup Kansa and maintenance
- Operates, and maintenance of all ink jet bases, strappers, and conveyors
- Operates Ink Jet setup and labeling
- Operates, setup SLS and maintenance including Vacuum Pump.
- Operates Post it Note machines during production
- Organizes BCC software for mailings
- Investigates errors, corrects, and reports
- Helps organize incoming pre-prints and Postit Notes by dates
- Uses forklift truck to unload trucks and get down skids from racks if needed
- Attends weekly staff meetings
- Alerts Packaging Manager of service or parts for equipment
- Make deliveries if needed
- Delivers printed material to Bindery at Bulldog Square
- Performs daily housekeeping of Packaging areas
- Need to cover for team members on vacation or call-ins
- Available for Bindery work at Bulldog square
- Ability to work on press when needed
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills
- Willingness to work in several different departments doing various duties.
- Self-motivated
- Self-starter
- Complete tasks that are given
- Computer skills
- Mechanical abilities.
