Bank Catering Assistant at Spire Healthcare

Bank Catering Assistant | Catering, Hospitality | Bank Contract, 0-37.5 hours p/week | Flexible Working | Norwich | Free Parking

Spire Norwich Hospital are looking to bring on a Catering Assistant to join their team on a Bank contract which is essentially a 0-hour contract where you will take on shifts you can do to cover sickness, annual leave or the need for additional staff. The purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation of salads, sandwiches and other meal requirements, in the plating up of meals and helping chef's prepare the food for the next day whilst ensuring you are working in a hygienic and methodical manner at all times. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • To assist, as directed, with preparation and presentation of food to the specified standard.
  • To adhere to all statutory regulations, pertaining to the safety and hygiene operation of the kitchen and ancillary areas.  
  • To comply with the Health and Safety procedures.
  • To undertake cleaning duties as per cleaning schedules.
  • To ensure the cleanliness of the stores.
  • To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all tasks and duties.
  • To report to your immediate supervisor any information relating to customer/client complaints, compliments or any incident of accident, fire, loss, theft or damage.
  • To attend meetings and training courses as may be necessary from time to time.
  • To relieve in other catering areas during periods of holidays, sickness, etc.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times. To report for duty at the designated time, dressed in the correct uniform.
  • To present a cheerful, confident and efficient manner at all times, as you are representing and promoting the catering department.
  • To carry out any reasonable request by management, relating to the efficient operation of the catering department.
  • To comply with all relevant catering and hospital policies and procedures as laid down by management.

What we are looking for: 

  • To accept responsibility for the identification of own training and development needs.
  • Catering experience preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without direct supervision.
