Within our Risk and Brokering Insurance Consulting and Technology team, we are setting out to revolutionize the way the global Insurance market conducts its business today, to create more efficient ways of working and a better solution to placing risk, reducing costs and transforming the way we operate in the broker- insurer value chain. WTW has a unique opportunity to deliver a service to the market that improves time and cost efficiency, revenue generation and accessibility to new markets across the value chain for both insurers and brokers. Neuron is a ‘start-up’ business within WTW looking to establish a new way of Digital Trading within the Global Insurance Industry, and this role offers a great opportunity for you to support both the set up and subsequent rapid growth journey of this new part of WTW, winning new customers and expanding into new markets internationally.
As a Principal Technology Consultant you will take a lead role in our client-facing pre-sales, implementation and integration of our Digital Trading for commercial lines solutions.
In this role, you will be part of a global team and work with colleagues and clients in Europe and the Americas. As a recognised technology implementation expert, in addition to working directly with clients you will make an impact by providing input into the direction of our product and proposition portfolio, have opportunities to continuously improve how we work and develop our products and propositions, and work closely with R&D and delivery colleagues from across the globe

Joining our Neuron Implementation team will open various paths for your career. Principal Technology Consultants have taken leading roles in our solutions and software product delivery and have become specialists in their own personal areas of interest (technical or non-technical).
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing full lifecycle of client projects and being the primary client contact for technical subjects
- Leading pre-sales efforts or working in support of our wider Neuron and ICT sales and delivery teams (including managing RFP/RFI responses)
- Leading project management on larger, multi-dimensional projects
- Running workshops and architecting solutions
- Managing the implementation, configuration and support of the Neuron solution (on-site or remote) – including small teams of consultants from within Neuron, ICT or client organisations
- Being a knowledgeable expert on our products, propositions and associated technologies
- Upskilling and mentoring other Neuron Implementation Consultants
- Leading the development of assets and tools to support and industrialise aspects of the Neuron sales to support lifecycle
- At least eight years prior experience in a consulting or client-facing role
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in managing key stakeholder relationships
- A proven track record of being able to manage the delivery of technology delivery and business change projects with limited supervision
- An ability to understand, explain and develop complex business and IT architectures
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn and independently seek knowledge
- Ability to adapt where limited information about a client or their technology stack is known
- A good understanding of many of the technologies underpinning our solutions: MS SQL; Active Directory; SOAP/REST Web Services; .Net; WCF, Mulesoft, Cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Able to understand client business needs and translate them into user stories or business requirements that can be interpreted by technical teams
- Experience in producing and reviewing technical documentation
- Experience leading teams and overseeing delivery across multiple projects
- Willingness to travel and ability to work throughout the UK, EU and US without restriction. Most of the time it is anticipated that you would be working from home or WTW offices in London.
Other desirable, but not essential skills are:
- Experience working within the insurance industry, in particular commercial and specialty insurance
- Experience working in an international environment (global teamwork)
- Significant experience, or accreditations in Cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Experience with systems integration and data transformation
- Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) experience
- Experience working across the full lifecycle of client projects – business analysis, design, development, testing and support
- Experience working in a client facing consulting or professional services role
- Project management accreditation
- Experience across the development lifecycle
