Position Description:
Purpose:
Our team is going through an exciting change. We are moving from print-based publishing of our English Language Learning products to a digital-first strategy. The Product Manager will be responsible for developing products and leading a digital-first product roadmap considering the competitive/ market landscape, our customers' needs, and our business direction. They will work with a cross-functional team to deliver on the roadmap and create a compelling user experience to delight our customers and users.
Responsibilities:
Develops digital-first plans for all products with an understanding of the “problems to be solved”.
Develops and implements the roadmap for the product portfolio to address the entire user journey addressing user needs and anticipating future needs.
Working with customer research and sales teams to understand and articulate customer needs and collate problems into jobs to be done. Keeps an eye on emerging digital trends and innovative technologies integrating them into the products as appropriate.
Define overall product direction, using product lifecycle methodology and agile best practices aligning it with the overarching English Language Learning strategy and portfolio level plans.
Execute digital product delivery plans within a timeline and budget. Ensure strong governance practices are in place to highlight success and manage risks.
Collaborate on development of digital marketing campaigns to attract new customers and increase market share through progressive pricing, trial and conversion tactics.
Monitor ongoing performance of digital products. Evaluate product performance and customer feedback and provide insight to content and development teams to refine future product releases and roadmap decisions.
Communicate the product story internally and externally as required and support our wider teams (e.g. sales) with product training, customer support and customer implementation.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
Minimum two years of experience in product management preferred although less will be considered
End-to-end digital product delivery experience required
Demonstrated product expertise with a successful record of bringing new products to market
Success driving product adoption utilizing B2B and B2C strategies
Experience in agile product management methodologies
Experience in education a plus but not required
Experience with software products/SaaS solutions a plus
Skills/ Attributes:
Strong ability to build relationships cross-departmentally to lead, engage and motivate cross-functional teams
Digital product design principles
Website and mobile app optimization
Data-driven prioritisation
Ability to deal with ambiguity while driving towards deadline
Sound business and technical acumen, with the ability to navigate a complex and highly matrixed organization effectively
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines, remaining pragmatic and results-focused
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
