Our mother/baby department is comprised of 14 rooms accommodating mother’s and baby/s. Nurses are trained to care for postpartum women and newborns along with a small volume of GYN post-op patients. Our team does not have a designated level of acuity but do cover level three acuity in collaboration with L&D and NICU.

Postpartum hemorrhage management
Blood transfusions

Strong focus on patient and family education

Bilirubin measurement & interpretation

Qualifications
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
