The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. This position may perform duties associated with symptom-management, direct in-clinic patient care, and/or telehealth patient care and quality improvement activities. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
This position provides Ambulatory RN support to our General Surgery Clinic assisting with inbox management to include phone triage, patient calls, result calls, medication refills & authorizations, vaccine administration, nurse visits, assisting with scheduling and coordination when applicable, and providing patient education. Not only will this role support General Surgery services in our clinic but Surgical Oncology and Acute Care Surgery (Trauma and Emergency General Surgery) services for our patients and providers. As well as working with our other General Surgery nurses on the team at our West and North clinics and supporting cross coverage phone triage when applicable.
Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm, no weekends, no holidays, no on call required. Med/Surg experience preferred. Will consider new grad RN.

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
Requires ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
