The Director of Accounting will lead accounting responsibilities which includes managing teams of diverse individuals and other indirect reports.
What You’ll Do:
Timely and accurate month end, quarter end, and year end closes
Development and retention of staff
Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts of the highest-level complexity (with corresponding evidential support)
Research and resolve outstanding reconciling items within 90 days.
Assure unit account reconciliations are complete according to policy
Ensuring both timeliness and accuracy with issues raised as appropriate
Assure unit journal entries are processed according to schedule
Manage accounting unit SOX testing as well as ensuring any SOX deficiencies are tracked to remediation
Liaison for internal/external auditors to include year-end testing, interim testing, SOX testing, and any other inquiries to the General Accounting department
Analyze reconciliations and related processes to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed
Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested
Complete projects as assigned by management
Provide leadership, direction, discipline and training for staff
Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial performance
Constantly evaluate and implement potential process improvements.
Adhere to all Sarbanes-Oxley, internal policies, audit procedures and regulations to ensure full compliance exists. Monitor, self-test and review established control points.
What We’re Looking For:
3+ Years management experience preferred
7+ Years accounting experience preferred
Bachelor Degree in Accounting Required
CPA Required
Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX required
Forecasting of operating budgets, a plus
“Big 4” experience preferred
Knowledge of Oracle preferred
Knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Access
Must have strong Leadership skills
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have strong analytical skills
Must have strong problem solving skills
