Farm Operations Manager at Norfolk County Council

Job Descrption
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Manager to lead the operation of Union Farm, a heritage farm at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the farm's operations, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and safety, and providing excellent customer service to visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement farm management plans to achieve business objectives
• Manage and maintain a range of livestock, including heavy horses and cattle, ensuring their welfare and safety
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, both traditional and modern
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors, ensuring a positive experience
• Work collaboratively with the heritage site team to achieve shared goals
Requirements
• Relevant degree or industry-recognised qualification
• Proven experience in farm management, including livestock handling and welfare
• Excellent communication... and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good computer literacy and numeracy skills
