Norfolk County Council has an exciting opportunity to join the Employment & Skills Service within the Growth & Investment Department, a key outward facing service within the Strategy & Transformation directorate.
The Employment & Skills Service is responsible for developing, delivering and supporting a range of programmes and projects to increase skills, boost employability and support people across Norfolk to access employment and progress within the workplace.
These roles will engage with young people to understand the barriers they face to undertaking education, training or employment identifying training and development activity to support entry to employment, reskilling and further learning for young people.
The project will also focus on engaging with a wide range of small & medium enterprises (SMEs) across the Breckland area, developing opportunities for young people to engage in work-based experience, structured employment activities and sector related learning. In establishing more significant opportunities, the project will work collaboratively with employers to facilitate the creation of work-based learning activities, apprenticeships and employment (with training) roles within organisations, supporting both business growth and youth employment/knowledge of work.
You will be a motivated individual, highly organised and keen to help and support young people. You will need experience of working in the Employment/Skills or Training sector with the ability to develop and maintain partnership working arrangements with both employers and educational institutions. You will also need to be able to work under pressure and to deliver to tight timescales.
These roles are funded by UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) and commissioned by Breckland District Council.
