Job Descrption
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The engineer will play a crucial role in leading upfront Final Assembly feasibility engineering for new model programs. This position requires a strong understanding of the Global Product Development System (GPDS) and the ability to ensure that all milestones between Technology Management Review (TMR) and Program Strategy Confirmed (PSC) phases are met on time and within quality targets.
- Lead/Manage key areas (either underbody or upperbody) of the upfront Final Assembly feasibility process for EV Unibody programs between TMR (Technology Management Review) and PSC (Program Strategy Confirmed) phases of GPDS (Global Product Development System)
- Ensure all GPDS milestones between TMR and PSC are met on time and within the quality targets
- Drive Product/Process alignment on all GAP (Global Architecture Process), SBOP (Standard Bill of Process), SBOD (Standard Bill of Design) and Modularity requirements
- Drive labor efficiency, complexity reduction, and end item parts to the main line where possible during new model program planning and development
- Coordinate efforts to review program-based manufacturing issues, align on corrective actions, and cascade to affected areas
- Work with counterparts in Vehicle Architecture and Final Assembly Engineering to quickly align on product design and manufacturing issues
- Support coordination of Program Cost Study responses and work with cross functional teams within the organization to ensure aligned results
- Support resolution of Major Architecture and High Investment Plant High Hurts to help mitigate Launch risks in Forward Model Development
- Work hours, Monday – Friday, day shift. Travel ~5% (site visits and global workshops)
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 2+ years experience in Final Assembly Process & Tooling Development or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of DPA5 tools (GSPAS/VPS, APT, Teamcenter, PFMEA, SCCAFs, Error proofing, etc)
Our preferred requirements:
- MS degree
- Extensive knowledge of Final Assembly DPA5 (Digital Pre-Assembly) process
- Working knowledge of DPA5 tools (GSPAS/VPS, APT, Teamcenter, PFMEA, SCCAFs, Error proofing, etc)
- One major program Launch (UP / UN > 4) or discipline equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of GMRs (Global Manufacturing Requirements)
