Job Descrption
The Associate, nursing working under close supervision responsibilities include assisting physicians in administering treatments, physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and performing other basic medical care functions with diligence and consistency on time. The role supports the administration of company policies and procedures related to the maintenance of the medical recordkeeping system, including employee health records, medical leave of absence, etc. with required levels of accuracy and confidentiality and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
This is a union-represented salaried position.
What you'll do…
- Supports managers by providing administrative support for providing health services and programs to the company employees in offices/plant locations including recording observations, assessments, findings, and treatments, with diligence and consistency in a timely manner in compliance with established company policies and processes.
- May support managers in nursing documentation compliance and to ensure efficient and effective patient experiences by recording data as per specified formats.
- Perform routine administration of nursing tasks associated with medical screenings and tests, such as pre-employment medical examinations, fitness for duty tests, return to work assessments, or other specific health assessments required for certain job roles. Assists with the collection of appropriate samples from patients including venipuncture, hearing, and vision screening, and associated clinical procedures.
- Participates in monitoring patient vitals and behaviors, and reports observations to senior nursing and medical staff. Supports senior nurses and physicians in formulating effective responses for medical emergencies of moderate complexity that may happen on the company premises/plants such as accidents, injuries, sudden illnesses, etc. as per established policies and procedures, identifies roadblocks if any, and effectively brings them to the managers’ attention.
- Assists in communicating information on health screenings results, rehabilitation programs information for employees recovering from injuries, etc. as per established policies, procedures, and processes to provide patient-centered care with empathy, kindness, and professionalism.
- Supports the consistent implementation of company policies and procedures related to administering medications and managing medication protocols for employees who require treatment and assists employees with rehabilitation services after work-related injuries to facilitate a safe return to work.
- Supports the maintenance of accurate and confidential records and data including employee medical histories, medical leaves of absence, treatment plans, and follow-up care in electronic medical records/systems.
- May assist with the maintenance of a compliance library for the Nursing team keeping track of all relevant regulatory developments around protecting the privacy and confidentiality of patients' medical information, infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, accreditation Standards, etc. by date.
- Supports the preparation of equipment for emergency procedures adhering to infection control practices, including cleaning and decontaminating equipment as required
- Work all shifts (days, Monday-Friday) and rotate to off shifts as needed, weekends as needed
Schedules may vary: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm
You'll have...
- Associate’s Degree in nursing
- 2+ years of experience in areas such as clinical occupational health nursing, urgent care, critical care, emergency room, or adult medical/surgical nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Unrestricted state licensure in the state of practice
