Product Development Engineer at Ford Motor Company

Job Descrption

Drive product quality performance actions and service solutions to reduce cost and customer impact, while also facilitating data acquisition resources to support effective and efficient root cause analysis and concern prioritization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall quality performance of In-Vehicle Infotainment modules in production.  
  • Utilize Jira (concern management tool) to manage an efficient Warranty Return analysis process to identify actionable software, hardware design, manufacturing and system issues.  
  • Develop and leverage automation testing capabilities to insure robust module analysis.    
  • Lead Warranty Spend Cost Reduction and Supplier Recovery projects.  
  • Work with Field Service teams to address customer and serviceability/repair concerns.  
  • System and subsystem level triage, troubleshooting, and defect root cause analysis of embedded systems software concerns through analysis of log files.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalency degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field/degree
  • 3 years of experience using CAN tools to collect and diagnose vehicle communication data between different electronic modules.
  • 3 years of experience troubleshooting automotive infotainment systems
  • 3 years of experience utilizing defect/concern tracking and management tools (such as Atlassian Jira). 
  • 3 years of experience analyzing software diagnostic log files for root cause analysis.
