Technical Operations and Support (TOS) Platform Engineering org is an exciting new group focused on the intersection of customer experience and support operations, and are leading the modernization and standardization of how OCI provides support to its customer. The objective is to empower customer to self-resolve issues, and when not possible then provide the fastest streamlined help in the industry. To support the vision, we are establishing the foundation using AI/ML to automate self-help-self-resolve, building a new unified support platform that manages end-to-end lifecycle of support request, and designing automation products that learns, evaluates, and provides path to resolution to service team engineers.
This is a brand new org, building brand new products ground up and approaching like a startup to delight our customer faster.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader with strong technical background and management experience to come lead and build a team responsible for building in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. Responsibilities
As a Director of Software Development, you will own and manage a team of software engineers responsible for the software architecture and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable with understanding business domain requirements and converting those requirements into engineering requirements, architecting broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, with the ability to dive deep into any part of the stack and higher-level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment and be excited to learn.

- Work with geographically distributed teams and contribute to the success of related teams
- Deliver large scale project on-time with the high quality
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of management experience in enterprise software
- 7+ years of experience with applications development with 2+ years in large scale distributed applications / web services
- Proficient at programming in Java, Python and strong knowledge of C, C++
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
- Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures
- Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and Engineering or related engineering fields
Preferred Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience
- Prior development experience with Owning micro services, support and operations
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus
- Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields

US: Hiring Range: from $120,300 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
