ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Confers with management, supervisors and Team Members to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

· Coordinates training schedule with the hiring and training demands of all shifts.

· Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as unloading, preloading, loading, etc.

· Conducts group and/or one-on-one training sessions, as needed.

· Evaluates trainees to measure progress and effectiveness of training.

· Completes training reports on trainees.

· Assists Team Members with problems concerning “how to” perform specific tasks related to forklift operation.

· Creates and updates training manuals and agendas.

· Confers with management to develop training materials.

· Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of all training programs.

· Makes suggestions on improving work procedures.

· Performs all essential functions of the Material Handler position.

· Reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.

· Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

· Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Competency Statement(s)

· Attendance - Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time. Ability to move across all shifts as needed. Ability and willingness to work the voluntary/mandatory overtime that is required during all busy seasons.

· Communication - Ability to effectively communicate (in writing and verbally) in a courteous and professional manner with others. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction.

· Mathematics- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

· Language – Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of Team Members or customers of the Company.

· Diversity Oriented - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.

· Relationship Building - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.

· Productivity - Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds the established guidelines. Ability to work independently without interruptions.

· Paperwork - Completion - Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines. Properly count, document or scan the number of units as needed by the function that is being performed.

· Paperwork - Verification - Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure customer is receiving correct product. Ability to inspect condition of product received and product going out to ensure quality. Ability to complete evaluations on progress of trainees.

· Organized – Ability to follow a systematic method of performing a task.

· Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

· Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

· Adaptability - Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.

· Autonomy - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect Team Member safety.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred

· Experience: Five (5) years related experience

· Computer Skills: Basic scanner technology; basic computer skills.

· Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Driver’s License; Forklift Certification
