Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for appropriately skilled employees to apply for the role of Factory Domestic Hygiene Operative based at the Cleckheaton site.
This position requires you to work permanent day shift 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hrs), but flexibility to work outside these hours may occasionally be required including weekends.
Main Purpose of Position:
Reporting to the Quality & Hygiene Manager and as a key member of the site hygiene team, your tasks and responsibilities will be wide and varied to ensure cleanliness of the factory by way of cleaning equipment and fabric. Ensuring hygiene and housekeeping inside the factory is carried out safely and maintained to required standards at all times in accordance with cleaning instructions and regulatory requirements. To ensure factory is audit ready, and to enable the factory to produce a safe food product.
Key Accountabilities:
- To carry out general cleaning duties – mainly on non-production areas i.e. offices, canteen, toilets etc., effectively and to a high standard, and replenish dispensers.
- To assist in cleaning staff facilities including the entrance areas, first aid room, training room, changing rooms.
- Completion of relevant paperwork correctly and in full, creating accurate records of cleaning and other activities during shift.
- To ensure all equipment is used as instructed, in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
- To ensure all equipment is cleaned and correctly stored in the appropriate areas following use.
- To adhere to all company safety and housekeeping procedures.
- To take part in any relevant training programmes which are deemed necessary.
- Any other cleaning duties as deemed fit to ensure that high standards in the factory are maintained.
Qualifications
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Literate and numerate, with the ability to understand and communicate in both written and verbal form.
- An aptitude to develop new skills.
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and safely and to high levels of detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, and to deadlines.
- Ability to work both as an individual and be a respected team member.
- Relevant Food Hygiene qualification or willingness to achieve.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to maintain motivated and to motivate your other team members.
- Previous hygiene experience in factory environment.
