Job Description
An opportunity has arisen at the Gateshead site for a production planner for a 6-month secondment period (with potential to go permanent).
Reporting to the Senior Site Planner, the role will be responsible for planning the production of the finished goods and sub-assemblies required to meet the deliveries to the customers in a timely fashion. Key to the role is the use of forecast and ERP models, incorporating production performance intelligence and Demand Planning inputs to produce efficient production plans to maintain customer service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor inventory levels against forecast and plan production orders to meet customer deliveries along with adequate safety stocks.
In close co-operation with the Demand Planners, create, monitor and revise production plans for all or part of the Valeo Foods portfolio.
Production of a timely production plan for both weekly and daily planning.
Communicate availability issues to the wider business as required.
Measure and report conformance to production plans to enable the business to maintain customer service level whilst minimising obsolescence.
Establish close working relationships with the production department in order to improve efficiency and optimise capacity. The Production Planner should be able to react swiftly to changes within the factory.
Work with the Demand & Material Planners in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
Maintain production planning spread sheets, systems and software.
Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to production planning process and performance.
Liaise closely with Demand & Material Planners in developing inventory strategies for raw materials required in production to help maximise production efficiency whilst minimising material costs and obsolescence.
Qualifications
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Experience in FMCG supply and production planning
Experience with ERP systems e.g. IFS/NAV/SAP
Strong Analytical skills/numerate
Commercially aware
Ability to work with large amounts of complex data and analyse trends
Excellent communication and facilitation skills – ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms, influence and engage across global, cross-functional groups
Good IT skills, advanced Excel
Maths or Business qualifications an advantage
Additional Information
Salary £30k to £32k
