Are you passionate about shaping the future of snacking? Valeo Foods UK, home to beloved brands like Kettle Crisps and Barratt Sweets, is on the lookout for a visionary Packaging & Oils Category Manager to lead our procurement strategy into the next era of excellence.
As the category-lead for Packaging & Oils, you'll be the driving force behind our sourcing initiatives across the entire Valeo Snackfoods Division. With eight production sites across the UK and potential for expansion, your role will be pivotal in delivering cost reductions, enhancing productivity, and improving cash flow. You'll lead a dynamic team of three Buyers, developing best-in-class sourcing strategies and fostering strong supplier relationships to ensure we remain at the forefront of innovation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, leveraging your in-depth understanding of sub-categories, markets, and suppliers.
- Drive stakeholder engagement to deliver projects on time and in line with strategic objectives, while negotiating commercial terms to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Analyse market trends and external risks, proposing innovative solutions to ensure business continuity and competitive advantage.
- Manage category expenditure and develop effective category management plans, utilising data-driven insights to deliver value and mitigate risks.
- Identify and onboard top-tier suppliers, collaborating with internal stakeholders to overcome challenges and deliver optimal sourcing solutions.
- Monitor KPIs and financial budgets, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement within the supply chain categories.
- Foster a culture of excellence within the procurement team, supporting personal growth and development to drive performance and results.
Qualifications
- A strategic thinker with a vast experience in procurement, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills and financial literacy.
- Results-oriented with a track record of delivering outstanding performance and results.
- A collaborative leader who can engage and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Analytical, proactive, and action-oriented, with a creative mindset and a passion for innovation.
- CIPS qualified (or working towards) with a graduate qualification as a minimum.
