Overview
Enhabit Home Health & Hospice is hiring a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join our team in Dallas, TX. As a leading provider of home health and hospice services, Enhabit provides superior, cost-effective care where patients prefer it: in their homes. As the Chief Accounting Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our accounting and financial reporting functions, as well as our accounts payable and payroll departments, to drive financial success. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will lead and manage our accounting team, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a commitment to excellence in financial management.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting and financial reporting departments, including SEC reporting, payroll, and accounts payable.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports to interpret the company's financial position.
- Direct the monthly closing process and maintain strong internal controls environment.
- Monitor the general ledger and financial data for compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry changes and accounting rules, ensuring full compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Act as a liaison to external auditors and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls as required by Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Develop cost control systems and monitor the company's budget.
- Evaluate current accounting practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate accounting-related diligence around acquisitions
- Represent the accounting department at board meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics; advanced degree preferred.
- CPA Certification with continuing education requirements.
- 18+ years of accounting experience with at least 5+ years in a senior accounting position in a publicly traded company.
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
- Extensive business experience and strategic knowledge with expertise in accounting and SEC financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting of financial information.
- Advanced knowledge of professional accounting software and Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent financial and analytical abilities with a high attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and motivate employees.
