Our goal on the First Round Ecosystems team is to create one of the most vibrant and dynamic communities within the startup landscape. We do this by crafting and delivering thoughtful experiences, programs, and events to empower exceptional talent in their company building journey.
With a diverse range of services and programs tailored to support builders, operators, and investors, such as Angel Track, our Product Market Fit Method, and numerous Founding Operator communities, we provide the essential resources and networking opportunities for success.
The mission of the Ecosystem work stream is to help everyone in our orbit become a First Round evangelist. One of our primary initiatives towards this mission is to create extremely detail-oriented and positive experiences to help folks feel supported by our team.
We’ve seen a massive value add from our communities when it comes to meeting founders, helping our companies scale, and learning more about specific industries from experts in our network.
To help further this impact, we’re on the lookout for a self-starter to join us as Events Coordinator to deliver excellent experiences to our community.
About the Events Coordinator Role
Your core role as Events Coordinator will include:
Managing the end to end experience of all event logistics at our SF office.
Attending all First Round events and guaranteeing each event is executed to our standards.
Communicating and coordinating with attendees and external vendors to ensure that events run smoothly.
Working with internal stakeholders to understand priorities and mapping out the process and goals for each event.
You could be a great Events Coordinator at First Round if:
You’re obsessed with the little things. We’re looking for someone who can ensure that every detail of an event or program is taken care of; from making sure name tags are printed correctly to more broadly ensuring that the Run of Show of each event focuses on our team’s goals. You’re someone who leaves no stone unturned and are constantly treating the little things like the big things.
You’re a team player and have the mindset that no task is too small for you. We’re looking for someone who can find the balance between being an attentive host at events (jumping in to fill waters, helping servers bring food to guests) as well as being someone who can operationalize event processes to make them more effective. You’re the right fit for this role if you are service oriented and are motivated to jump in and help, even in moments when you aren’t asked to.
You’re a people person and love bringing the community together. Planning events and getting people together is a passion of yours. In your free time, you might be the person who’s pulling friends together for a party or intimate gathering, or the one folks consult about their weddings or birthday parties. You may even be a Partiful super user! We would love if you brought the same energy to our team.
You can execute quickly while balancing a handful of different tasks and logistics. Sometimes, we have five events going on in one week. We’re looking for someone who is able to understand the needs of each stakeholder and attendee, as well as project manage what needs to be done for each event -- from booking venues and chefs, to collecting the dietary restrictions of each guest, to managing event invites and follow up reminders.
You are not afraid to lean into your creative side and think out of the box. Part of this role is to help bring new ideas and energy to the events that we host! We want you to be creative and think outside the box to help us innovate and execute on our strategy.
