Job Description

WHAT’S THE ROLE? 

Millions of people will read your words.
 

We’re looking for a marketing copywriter to join our Brand & Creative team in London.

Wise has over 16 million customers — with that number climbing rapidly — and you’ll speak to giant swaths of them.

There are also millions of folks around the world who’d benefit from our services who may not know we exist or just haven’t got around to signing up yet. With your words, you’ll make them stop mid-coffee-sip to read more about Wise when they scoot to work and bridge the gap from awareness all the way to sign up.

Wise has a lot of amazing features, ranging from money-saving to absolutely life-changing and they’re not always obvious to the uninitiated. You’ll be talking about things people really need, in a way where they’ll find it easy to listen.
 

Your words will need to educate with a bit of creative sparkle.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll write the copy for marketing campaigns that educate and inform customers and potential customers about Wise’s benefits and mission. You’ll be crafting the words at the centre of a lot of those efforts, and your responsibilities will include:
 

• Write compelling marketing so more prospects convert (paid channels)

• Write lifecycle campaigns (email, inbox, push) to educate customers on how to use features of the product

• Craft the words for cross-sell campaigns (email, inbox, push) to convert existing customers to new products

• Pen the words for ad hoc campaigns and experiments that drive customers to use Wise products more by crystallising new use cases

• Help brainstorm ideas and angles for all of the above

• Support Brand & Creative in their mission to being the best partner to Marketing in the efforts to fuel Wise’s mission and get Wise onto more phones and screens.

Qualifications

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a creative, talented writer who can explain — at times — complex concepts to people in fun, interesting ways. Does that sound like you? Do apply. Do. 

That’s regardless of whether you have our ‘ideal’ qualifications and experience, which include:
 

• 2-5 years experience writing marketing copy for a medium-to-large-sized business, preferably tech, though not essential

• A portfolio of writing samples that illustrates your wit and polish (can be a Google doc-type thing)

• A keen eye for what makes effective marketing and advertising — you’ll take inspiration from many different industries, and have a strong POV on what makes for great copywriting

• You’ve worked with designers, and product marketers and managers before, and you’re happy speaking their esoteric language(s)

• You have the resilience to handle requests from multiple teams, and you know how to build a process to manage them
• Collaboration — an appetite to work closely with many different parts of the Wise organisation as well building strong partnerships with other creative disciplines

• Experience of articulating the ‘why’ behind your decisions — you’ll need to convince, to disagree confidently, and to take and give useful feedback
