SUMMARYXOR Security, An Agile Defense Company is currently seeking a talented Senior Software Developer to support an Agency-level Cybersecurity Program with the development of a Power BI end-to-end data visualization tool. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and detail oriented with a passion for data analytics and transforming raw data into actionable information for leadership and cyber/IT stakeholders. The Senior Software Developer will join a team of cross-functional cybersecurity experts supporting a spectrum of cybersecurity disciplines in support of a government agency's Cybersecurity Program.The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for interfacing with Cyber and IT stakeholders and leadership and implementing requirements using a variety of data sources to deliver custom dashboards and visualizations in support of a maturing common operating picture (COP) project. The ideal candidate has full stack development experience, a strong desire to work in the cybersecurity field and a willingness to join a dynamic team of cyber practitioners tackling a diverse set of challenges. Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the cybersecurity domain and experience integrating with related technologies and systems.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Support the on-going development and maintenance of a cyber common operating picture using Power BI and a variety of data sources to deliver a unified user experience. · Collaborate with cyber and IT leaders and GRC team members to understand information needs and translate them into effective Power BI solutions. · Develop custom visuals and dashboards that communicate business metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). · Contribute to ongoing efforts to develop, implement, and report on security measures using the Power BI platform.· Generate detailed documentation on all SQL Queries and DAX/R/Python code used to create Power BI Reports, Dashboards, and visualizations, along with any custom slicers, measures, calculated fields, etc.· Proactively identify data visualization opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Background, and Years of Experience· Bachelor’s Degree required (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent). · Minimum of three (3) years of experience in software development, data analytics, data science or similar role.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills· Practical experience working in the cybersecurity industry - processing cybersecurity data, familiarity using or integrating with enterprise cyber technologies, etc.· Strong working knowledge of Power BI, Power BI Service, Power BI report development, DAX calculations and visualization techniques. · Experience with front-end dashboard development and Microsoft Power Platform. · Experience with Microsoft SQL Server. · Experience building data models and integrating data from a variety of sources using Power Query. · Familiarity with analytic scripting languages including R, Python. · Ability to query databases/data sources and establish data feeds from data sources to existing/new dashboards.· Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills· Advanced DAX experience desired. · UX/UI design experience desired. · Experience with multiple programming languages desired.· Familiarity with CDM, Qualys, Crowdstrike, Sentinel preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions· Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support data updates. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The onsite working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work onsite is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands· Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
