OVERVIEW

The Senior Director of Field Offices (DFO) position leads the growth and overall operations of seven of USCRI’s Field Offices and is responsible for the overall management of the Field Offices’ growth, community engagement, budgets, programs, proposals, operations, and supervision of local staff. Duties include: building a framework for the program (e.g., policies, procedures, monitoring), providing clear and specific instructions to team members, integrating field office and headquarter operations, modeling effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, promoting programmatic and fiscal compliance, coordination with the IT department, negotiating contracts, actively participating in fundraising efforts and diversifying the Field Office’s portfolio. The Senior Director of Field Offices reports to USCRI’s Vice President of Refugee Programs (VP) and has supervisory responsibility for the twelve established Field Office Directors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance to Field Office Directors on program management, financial management, HR, IT, and operations-related matters to ensure compliance with USCRI policies, standards, and funder requirements
  • Act as a senior point of contact for field offices, with funders, local partners, and state and local administrations
  • Assist with the identification of funding opportunities, and actively participate in proposal writing and program budget creation
  • Monitor field office financial performance and coordinate resource allocation with Field Office Directors
  • Lead annual field office budget development as a part of USCRI’s budgeting process
  • Facilitate communications between the headquarters staff, including Development, HR, Finance, IT, Communication, and operations, with Field Offices to ensure the prompt and efficient flow of work and information, while troubleshooting logistical issues as they arise
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operational workflows and develop solutions and best practices

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Master’s degree in business administration, social work, non-profit management or related field.  
  • 10 years of demonstrated experience in leadership, team building, supervision, and program management
  • Nonprofit management experience and experience working on local, state and/or federal refugee resettlement programs 
  • Leadership skills including training, team building, provision of performance feedback, and supervision 
  • Background and experience with refugee resettlement and integration
  • Experience with budget development, financial oversight, and programmatic compliance
  • Experience with fundraising and grant writing, and an ability to build relationships and engender community support
  • Experience with community engagement and comfort with public speaking
  • Desire and ability to work with foreign-born individuals of varying ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds
  • Strong computer skills required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Self-starter with ability to work well in a team, juggle multiple priorities, and meet regular deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail; must be highly flexible, and able to keep multiple assignments moving forward
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace

 TRAINING REQUIREMENTS 

  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s New Directors Orientation and Training
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying materials
