Our North American Process & Environmental group is searching for an experienced Spectroscopy Product Specialist to support our location in Pasadena, TX. The successful candidate will prepare technical information and advice for customers and field sales staff; coordinate field sales activities and documentation for specific product lines, prepare presentations / Sales aids / literature and application notes; and will be able to perform the listed essential job functions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Makes sales when applicable, depending on distribution, territories, etc.
- Researches and responds to incoming inquiries via phone, web, and email.
- Organizes and maintains product line documentation.
- Responds to technical inquiries.
- Performs database technical research and information gathering on the Internet, printed media and trade shows.
- Initiates requests for replacement orders and may create/review quotes and/or purchase orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Makes technical presentations at customer sites or tradeshows; coordinates preparation of handout materials relating to the product line.
- Assists with product and software evaluation and development.
- Assists manufacturing with higher level or unique trouble-shooting issues.
- Seasonal travel required, typically 25% to 50%.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Ability to provide extensive technical support to customers and sales staff via phone, email, or web communication with in-depth knowledge of gas analyzer applications.
- Requires 5+ years’ experience with HORIBA’s instruments or comparable product line, or equivalent knowledge typically gained by earning a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or Spectroscopy.
- Ability to analyze and effectively respond to complex technical questions.
- Ability to maintain and disseminate paperwork efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to prioritize workflow.
- Ability to coordinate all sales activities and to make technical presentations.
- Good working knowledge of internal operations, policies, procedures, and products.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
- Computer literate
