Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking an undergraduate or graduate-level intern to support an exciting Earth Science project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for the summer of 2024. The aim of this project is to improve existing Python workflows for processing NASA model outputs. NASA produces a wealth of free, publicly available information about climate, weather, air, land, and water. NASA data users sometimes encounter barriers to using NASA data, like data formats or workflow output integration. The intern’s efforts will be focused on adding a function/module to starter code that will extract surface temperature (temperature inversion) related variables for calculations downstream. This will help NASA data users improve their uptake of new data and also improve Python workflows for processing model outputs of air quality variables.
