Nature of Work:
The Director of Broadcast & Video is responsible for overseeing video production including planning, execution and tracking with all club stakeholders as well as local and national media partners.
The ideal fit for this role is collaborative, organized, solutions-oriented individual who prioritizes communication, team building and teamwork above everything. This person should have extensive experience in the video production field and have managed staff, on-air talent, creative project development, sets, logistics and deliverables on varying timelines and budgets.
This person should have a passion for creating and improving video content and processes to maximize resources. They should be excited about leading efficient teams and eager to champion the sport of soccer and soccer fan culture.
Examples of work performed:
- Implement and oversee communication, workflows, content delivery and best practices for all video content produced at the club
- Club stakeholder for all TV and radio broadcast partners
- Work with editorial, fan development, digital, and communications stakeholders to improve video content and broadcasts, aiming to deliver best-in-class content to support club messaging and business objectives
- Coach and mentor staff with a focus on professional development, content production, and industry best practices
- Oversee freelance, contract and in-house talent including scheduling, budgeting, staffing and development
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to help deliver the best matchday video content and broadcast experience possible for fans around Denver and the world
- Manage timeline, production, and logistics for weekly, monthly and annual video content deliverables for all broadcast partners with a focus on Apple’s “Season Pass” streaming service
- Oversee and execute any livestreams including communication, scheduling and workflows
- Oversee club asset collection, distribution and archiving for video/photo assets
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver video content and talent for key club events
- Oversee the broadcast feed and archiving for first team home and away matches
- Ensure delivery of melt footage, press conferences and other highlight material to various parties on matchday
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of MLS Commercial Guidelines, MLS In-Market Operations Manual and other MLS, MLS Next Pro, MLS Next, CONCACAF and FIFA rules, regulations, and standards

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years managing and leading staff including on-air talent, videographers and producers
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in broadcast, video production or related field
- Organized and punctual leader who is accustomed to overseeing logistics, meeting deadlines and navigating challenges
- Excellent communicator capable of developing and managing relationships across many different personalities
- Experience working with talent and desire to create strong team culture across department and organization
- Possesses knowledge of and passion for the sport of soccer and an understanding of the characteristics of soccer fans and soccer culture
- Experience working with professional sports leagues/teams or for an entertainment property is preferred
- Has an active interest in and appreciation for emerging trends in global popular culture; understanding of Colorado-based consumers and local market nuances preferred
Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience working in a broadcast environment – TV, radio, streaming, digital
- Experience in content development, production, and deliverables in different formats – video, audio, photo, written etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge of video workflows from pre-production and scripting through capture and archiving
- Proven leadership ability, with experience managing external agencies, internal partners, and direct reports
- Strong knowledge of video codecs and delivery methods preferred
- Mature, capable communicator who can make arguments clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing, driving meetings towards actionable outcomes
- Excels in strategic prioritization and decision-making; effectively balances long-term business goals with short-term needs
- Eager and curious to learn new skills and help push the club’s broadcast to be best-in-class
- Strong knowledge of rules, culture and terminology of MLS and American soccer
- Knowledge of Colorado marketplace and media landscape
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends
Compensation
- $80,000-$90,000.00 per annum
