Primary Objective of Position: The Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) will be responsible for managing both the advanced and current supplier quality functions. The SQM will support supplier quality activities between our production facilities, Engineering and Enterprise Sourcing teams. The person in this position will work with suppliers to improve quality systems and performance that contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the supplier quality organization.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Drive quality accountability with top critical suppliers
Launch continuous improvement projects to improve performance
Conduct audits, evaluate performance, develop action plans, and provide recommendations for the purpose of improving supplier quality performance
Monitor, analyze, report, and effectively use quality data to increase customer satisfaction and reduce risk
Drive root cause analyses and problem-solving utilizing QMS processes, Lean methodology, and statistical tools
Follow up on supplier corrective actions
Support enterprise sourcing projects through supplier assessments, design reviews and identifying component critical characteristics
Present supplier quality performance data to leadership
Identify and support closing gaps in the QMS in alignment with corporate quality, strategic sourcing and engineering
WGO Supplier Quality liaison with Enterprise Supply Chain council
Select, coach and develop staff. Set clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team.
Manage performance through recognition, feedback and progressive discipline when necessary
Establish goals, work plans and budgets to achieve lowest cost and highest quality results
Work closely with Sourcing, Supply Chain, Technology and Engineering to implement supplier/engineering changes and new product introductions
Responsible for Supplier Quality activities at both Winnebago Motor Home and Winnebago Towables' locations
Critical competencies
Track record of deploying quality systems to drive continuous improvement
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Business Administration
12 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment
7-10 years of leadership experience in a technical role
