Primary Objective of Position: Responsible for the day-to-day management of people within production, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures. Strive to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality. Act with minimum supervision.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Lead and direct employees and lead department meetings.
Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored, and targets achieved.
Support a high-performance culture where suggestions are embraced.
Give feedback to drive employee development.
Drive Productivity and Safety improvements.
Performa Labor reporting for employees.
Recommend process improvements.
Interview and select employees.
Recommend wage adjustments.
Other duties as assigned based on business need.
Critical competencies:
This position prefers a four-year college degree, or 8-10 years of experience in lieu of degree.
Must possess strong people skills and show strong engagement skills.
Must be able to communicate well, both written and verbally.
Possess strong problem-solving skills.
Must be a self-starter, and able to develop plans to meet corporate goals.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
Ability to adapt to change quickly.
Proven track record within manufacturing management.
Ability to design processes and layouts.
Basic understanding of waste, downtime, scrap and re-work.
